Measuring the social determinants of health: an integrative literature review

Introduction: The Social Determinants of Health are those conditions that directly or indirectly influence the life course, health individuals and inequalities. Objective: to analyze scientific evidence on instruments used measure Health. Method: integrative documentary review publications this topic in 27 articles, analyzed ATLAS.ti software. Results: 2019 was year with highest number studies related Health, English predominant language; United States is most prolific country publications; evaluated were system (70%), education (63%), economic income housing (55%). Age, gender ethnicity assessed 41%, socioeconomic stratum not assessed. measurement has been focused structural. Conclusion: according evidence, there no homogeneity include fundamental explain inequalities inequities design generic an international need evaluate structural intermediate determinants.
